Superpower part 2.

As it turned out, it was much easier than she had thought. After a few terrifying tests, she found that she could jump all the way to the top of her desk and survive the fall with no problem. The only thing that she could figure was that she was incredibly durable. She got a decent distance away from her desk (only about a foot or two) and got a running start. She waited until she had just over two inches left between her and the desk, then jumped. She soared to the top shelf of the wooden frame with no problem. This was pretty handy, she thought to herself. She walked over to the edge and looked down. Sure enough there was the sticker, just as stuck as ever. But the side closest towards her was folded slightly, more than enough room for her to grab. She needed to be coordinated here to grab it, but the fall wasn’t worrying her.

She backed up some and jogged forward, not wanting too much speed. As she went off the edge, she turned in the air and reached out. Her tiny hands latched onto the sticker, and her momentum pulled the entire thing clean off. Suddenly, she panicked. Now that she had it off, she didn’t know what to do. What if she could only survive this fall if she landed on her feet? She didn’t know if she could land on her feet this time. She quickly pushed the rising panic aside and grabbed either side of the sticker, holding it above her head. It did little to slow her fall, but she could see where she was going now, and could prepare for the landing. The landing was so hard she crumpled on impact, but nothing broke, and she felt no pain. She slowly stood up, careful not to put pressure on anything too fast. Sure enough, she was fine. She began the trek to her trash can, tripping a few times on the way.

Soon enough, she was there, and leaped to get the sticker inside. She landed solidly on the edge of the can, but quickly lost her balance and fell in. Well, she could always jump back out. This super-jump she suddenly had was really handy. Without warning, her roommate appeared above her. Crystal and Sarah had shared this apartment for just over a year now, and were close friends. Sarah was looking for a notebook, and set a pen down on the shelf next to her. She reached up to grab a book on one of the higher shelves, but her sleeve brushed the pen in the process. The pen slid off the edge of the shelf and fell down, straight for the trash can. Crystal didn’t have time to react as the enormous pen fell immediately onto her. She was smashed to the bottom of the can, and the breath was knocked out of her. Again though, she felt no pain. However, it took a second for her to regain her breath, and in that time, Sarah had realized her mistake.

Her giant roommate reached down through the various crumpled papers and gum wrappers to get the pen. In the process of her grabbing it, she also grabbed her shrunken roommate. She didn’t notice the slight change in the shape of the pen as she held on tight. Crystal was pressed up against the pen tightly by the enormous hand behind her, but it wasn’t entirely uncomfortable. It was a bit like a roller coaster, floating through the air as you were whisked away to an unknown destination. But it was unbearably hot inside Sarah’s hand. Soon, they arrived where they were headed, and Sarah absentmindedly dropped the pen on the desk, dropping Crystal with it. She landed on her face, and the pen pounded down on her back. She paid it no attention at all, instead preferring to run to cover while Sarah was distracted. She was going to mess with her roommate, and it was going to be so much fun.
